Sierra Nevada is bringing its craft beer to Golden 1 Center through a partnership announced Tuesday by the Sacramento Kings.

The Chico brewery will develop a lounge, called the Sierra Nevada Draught House, that will be located on the upper concourse near the main entrance to the new downtown arena. Patrons will be able to see inside the arena bowl from the lounge.

As part of the 10-year partnership, arena executive chef Michael Tuohy and Sierra Nevada will create a limited edition ale for sale at the arena.

The agreement is in line with the Kings’ goal of procuring 90 percent of food and drink offerings from within a 150-mile radius of the arena.

“They are a great partner to have as we prepare to open Golden 1 Center and we are proud to offer our visitors a nationally renowned product crafted in our region,” said Kings President Chris Granger in a prepared statement.

The lounge will incorporate “reclaimed” wood from Sierra Nevada’s Mills River taproom in North Carolina, as well as orchard walnut from Northern California. Both the Kings and Sierra Nevada have committed themselves to sustainable business practices.
